Final Batch of Commissions

Next week on Monday Oct 6th I will be listing several commission spots in my Etsy shop. These will be the last spots available, as I will no longer be accepting commissions starting 2016. The listing will be deactivated on Jan 1st if all spots have not been filled by then.

I’ll be spending the rest of this year finishing my entire commissions list so that I can finally focus on all my own ideas and projects that have been on the back burner, I have SO many!

It’s been a pleasure bringing your ideas to life for the past 7 years! Thank you for letting me create these special girls for you.

FYI: If I have a trade with you or have spoken to you about a commission for this year, you’re good.

I will accept layaway on these final commissions.

Please email me for more info, or to be added to the mailing list: gina@gbabycustomdolls.com

The Golden Half Hour

There’s a specific type of lighting I use for my photos, and it’s not achieved by a fancy lamp or light box. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to have either of those! But I don’t, so I make due with what I have. What I have is really amazing natural light that comes through my bedroom window, where 90% of my photos are taken. This is a good thing in general, but there are a couple limitations. The best lighting only lasts between 7-7:30pm, and there is only ONE window in my entire house that lets in this kind of light. It just happens to be in the tiniest most cramped corner ever. Basically I have about 2.5 feet of space during a 30 minute period of the day to take amazing photos. So yes, the golden hour for me is a mere golden 30 minutes. If I miss the opportunity I try again the next day. I might try using professional lighting equipment in the future, which would allow a lot more flexibility, but for now I’ll stick with my tiny cramped corner of golden light!
